Heat the area with hairdryer or hot air paint stripper (but be very careful if you use this) to soften the adhesive, then the edge of a 6" metal rule slid carefully underneath.....

If you haven't got a thin ruler get a piece of thin insulated cable (speaker

cable or something similar) hold taught in both hands, then slide along the

back of the badge. Because you haven't got a hard edge there is no fear of

damaging the paintwork. You will then need white spirit & t-cut to remove

the remaining padding/adhesive before you put your new ones on.

Don't forget to heat it with a hairdryer first as Ivor said.

i have recently replaced both of our badges, i heated it up with a hairdryer, until it was VERY HOT, then got a very thin/small flat head screwdriver, and carefully pushed it under the edge of the badge, pulled it towards me, then i got my finger behind it and pulled it off - da daaaaaa, if your lucky the sticky muck comes of with the badge, but you don't get lucky very often, and so you MUST clean the Sticky muck off before you stick the new one on.

- MAKE SURE YOU STICK IT ON THE RIGHT WAY ROUND!

If you do the front as well, it may have two guiding pins behind the badge, this makes it harder to get off, but makes it easy to stick it on!

good luck

Matt

P.S. - for such a quality vehicle, why do they stick such crap badges on?

I've finally got round to replacing the badges, used the hairdrier technique. I also used a plastic ice scraper to lever the badges off.

WOW what a difference!

Definitly a job worth doing.....

thanks again for advice.
